The Whispering Gallery | Introduction


Hi! My name's Suzanne and I want to introduce you to The Whispering Gallery podcast. Have you ever wondered about art history, or elegant galleries, and museums that may be haunted or have a supernatural element? The art world's a mysterious place so I hope you'll join me as I dig into the beautiful, strange, and difficult explain.

While multiple resources are used for research, I ask for your patience with my pronunciations, and possible mistakes.

The Curse of the Hope Diamond

The Hope Diamond (Photo courtesy of the Smithsonian Institution) Look for the Whispering Gallery podcast on iTunes. In these episode we take a look at the walnut-sized, sparkling-blue Hope Diamond (that is housed at the Smithsonian Institution) that is said to be cursed. The Hope Diamond is set into a pendant, surrounded by 16 white diamonds (both pear and cushion cut); the necklace chain consists of 45 white diamonds. The deep-blue gem is tied to some mystifying stories that may either be a convenient coincidence. Is it possible that these stories are evidence of something darker and maybe even supernatural?
